diablo predator lost stock tune

I recently purchased a diablo predator and installed the pulley tune. I wanted to change a couple of parameters, when I hooked the tuner up I was informed that the stock tune was not saved. I am now stuck with a performance pulley tune. I e-mailed diablo and am waiting a reply. I thought the stock tune was pretty much impossible to lose?? Any one else have this happen??

Well, got my reply from diablo, they said they could repair my problem. Gotta give them a call first, will let you know how it turns out. Very optimistic, hopefully I can change a couple of shift points. Also got an e-mail from J-lightning about some traction bars. Plan on driving up to PA and picking them up and then to Cecil county drag way, after install, and seeing a 12 second pass!

I don't know where JL is located, but the Toll part reminds me of the FFW in Jersey. I was towing my Lightning and it cost me 50 fricking dollars to get from the beginning, somewhere around Washington or Boston?, to the point where I got off in Englishtown. I took a cheaper route home...no Tolls.

Luckily, I don't have to use 95! I do agree the tolls are getting rediculous. Johnny Lightning is only about 40 minutes from my house, unfortunately though they aren't open on weekends! I'm hoping I can get out of work early enough to drive up there Monday afternoon.

So bglanden......I am guessing you haven't found anything out yet.

A few of the local guys around here have the predator tuner, it would be nice to know the fix in case someone gets in a jam at the track or something.

Let us know what the fix is

I'm going to try and call them a little later today, I assume they're open on weekends. Will keep you informed.

Here was diablo's reply and phone #

"The predator can be fixed please call us at 5619080040 and we can fix this problem

Thank you for your interest in DiabloSport!

Well I tried contacting diablo today got the answering machine. Went to Johnny Lightning's and picked up my traction bars, plan on installing them tomorrow. While at JLP I asked about the predator and John offered to custom tune my truck and in the process he also talked to diablo and corrected the stock tune. While there he put the truck on the dyno and made two pulls with the highest being 378 rwhp with a/f staying right around 12 across the board (pretty hot day and humidity was very oppressive). I was hoping for closer to 400 but will see how it pulls down the track in cooler weather. Seriously thinking about pulling the C&L MAF & inlet tube off and buying JLP power tube and cool air kit, makes better sense to me now.
P.S John has a pretty nice set up as I had to keep wiping the drool!

Johnny and Sue are really good people. They were down here in Houston back in May to do some custom tuning on several Lightnings and HD F-150s. The A/F sniffer on the Dyno Jet quit working so Johnny plugged in a datalogger and built tunes off the O2 sensor outputs.

After squeezing 403 RWHP and 518 RWTQ out of mine with a custom Predator tune, he estimated the A/F to be between 12.2 and 12.4. Two subsequent pulls last month with a working A/F meter reflected a 12.2 A/F reading. The guy is good!

Yeah RUNVS?,
They are really nice people! I enjoyed talking with both of them. I think I could talk with Johnny for years, trying to ingest all of the knowledge and bypass all of the failures! I wish I had done a little more research before buying my aftermarket parts from a wholesaler! Nothing wrong with them(wholesaler's) but like the personal touch when I have a question, and knowing the person has seen it or done it before!

Class acts.......both of them. JLP is one of only two Lightning specific retailers who have supported our annual HALO Lightning Show and as the HALO Regional Show Director, I really appreciate their willingness to contribute.

Looking forward to their next trip down here.
