Quote of the month:
At one track event, this chick in front of me was all over the place. Braking in the middle of a straight, not hitting a single apex, and pointing people by on the wrong side of the track.
I was intentionally leaving space between us to not spook her (I almost always do that, but was especially careful with this white-knuckled teenager).
I take a charge to get around this cute little accident-waiting-to-happen, but she moves over on me right in the passing zone. I have no choice but to stomp the brakes and tuck in behind her. We are clipping along at about 80, and, seeing the Darth Vadermobile filling her mirrors, she immediately begins to freak. She's throwing up gravel, swerving, and getting all bent out of shape. I had to damn near stop to give her back a space cushion.
In the beginner groups, it's always best to either get on by or ease up. I know that it sometime takes me off of my game when someone is menacing from behind -- especially at an unfamiliar track.
I just wave them by. I'm running my own race; I just wanna find my groove and ride it out.
