Well...
It isn't watertight. But it's better than open. If you want watertight, you'll have to "Wrap the Rails"
The finish went away after 3 years. I should have painted it when I first bought it(July2000).
All that and I love it. It looks great, even though it's a little hard to live with.
I would buy it again

What does it look like on the edges?

Is there exposed black rubber, for the seal?

I now realize that I don't have a good pic of the bed cover...
I'll have to work on that
