Exhaust Question....

And yes I searched FIRST !!!!

I went to Houston and purchased a nice 03 Lightning On saturday well on the drive home (OKC) i hit a really nice BIG tire in the road that wrapped around my exhaust and bend the the HELL out of it. Now my intentions were to replace the entire system with JDM's Header back magnaflow kit anyway but not this soon. So my question is this Since I have not had a chance to climb under the truck since I got it I was wondering if the stock system was a single or dual muffler set up??? does the exhaust manifold dump into a Y pipe that goes into one muffler with 2 tips or is it a true dual set up where I can just ordered the dual catback from JDM and install the headers and mid pipe later?? I am asking this because there is no way that my wife is going to OK me spending 1800 on a new truck a week after I get it, but 460 I can handle. Oh and pics will be posted as soon as I get them uploaded.

The system has two seperate pipes into a large single dual in, dual out muffler.

Depending upon how much damage is down below, you could just put in the Magnaflow system and go from there. It is a great system. I just put mine on back at the end of June and haven't looked back!

Nice to have another 03 in Edmond. Welcome

Sorry to hear about your exhaust, but I would love to help with the install of a new one. I put my cat-back and AllmightyWad's cat-back on. If you need help, just hollar.

Thanks for the great info. I am going to call JDM today and get the silver bullet cat back. That is what I had on the Roush I traded in for this truck. My buddy Doug and I will probably take care of it but when I get it in I will let you know and you can feel free to swing by and check it out.

Grimace if you live in Edmond you may have seen me and my friends tooling around in our Roush's I had a Dark Shadow Grey Roush and my buddy has a SonicBlue Roush with a Cobra-R hood. The week I got my car some guy in a silver Lightning was tailing me up Kelley and I punched and he was right there with me...great Cars cool trucks. That was not you was it?????LOL

1-800-FORD-SVT and give them your vin. They will tell you what your build# is and what day it was built on. Mine was built on Wednesday.

You can get a certificate of authenticity sent to you as well. I'm up in Edmond often so hope to see you soon. I'll be driving the white 03 L.
