Went to the 1/8th (mile track) before i ported blower and ran consistent 8.6's. went to the 1/4 mile after porting and 1/8th mile time dropped to a consistent 8.4 with a best of 8.2. That was the only difference was porting the blower. Definitely a worthwhile mod IMO.

sweet !! Thanks for the response.....I was just concerned and discouraged that I've seen dyno graph after dyno graph of people with the blower port, and yet had failed to see one person post up new bests since doing it....

Do some searching. Back around the first of the year a bunch of us got in on a Apten GP.

Personally I picked up a solid and repeatable 0.3 and 2-3 mph. Basicly went from 12.7s to 12.4s and from 106mph to 109mph on very close to identical days. Even a hot and humid day shows about the same level of improvement on my combo.

Money very well spent with Apten IMO.

I see you are up in the colder/dryer climate region of the country. Any idea how your truck runs in sticky/hot/humid weather? How much of a difference is there on these trucks?

Most Lightning's DO NOT run their best ET's in the Heat + Humidity, most will be off 3/10th's through a full 1/2 second, some more, some less. Thats why we haven't seen or heard too many ET improvements yet with the Ported Eatons, A LOT did this mod "after last race season" and haven't had a cool day at the track yet to compare best ET's

I gained 2-3 tenths in Texas. The way I compared it was I compared to similar weather conditions from before I had the Apten port done. I don't know if anyone else had this happen, but I didn't seem to loose as much E.T. when hot lapping.

Here is a link to a vid of me keeping up with a Kenne Bell. We where both pushing the same amount of boost....about 17lbs. Of coarse he won....but I was able to make a good showing.

I am in the Black Lightning. I ran an 11.90 to his 11.68, I treed the crap out of him and it was almost enough to get the win light....heads up style.

To stave off the Kenne Bell fans....I am in no way trying to say the Apten is better than a Kenne Bell.....but the Apten also cost a heck of alot less...and will give you more than enough boost for stock lower end usage.

Oh yeah...the temp was between 75 and 78, and the humidity was around 85%...typically...I played heck getting below 12.20 at this same track in the same weather, before the porting.

From: Colorado,
How many of you that did the port mod noticed a difference in your Brakes?
Sounded like it effected vacum storage.
I think Rob had that problem and some others did two.

Blown hatch,

I'm from Fla and can relate to your question. And knowing that a number of guys on this board are in the sweet south I stated:

"Even a hot and humid day shows about the same level of improvement on my combo."

Now I guess I ought to qualify what that meant. I saw these same "improvements" on very similar days. It was about 85deg with high humidity (80%+).

i thought his problem was due to a failed check valve on the booster
