Question 2 Questions regarding my S/C return from Apten....

1. Already have a JLP custom tune, and I am not changing
pulleys.

Is my Air/Fuel ratio with the Apten-Ported blower
supposed to remain the same?

2. I saw in a post that the factory gaskets can be re-used.

Should I use a little silicone sealer also to insure a good
seal, or is just the properly torqued gasket enough?

If the old gaskets are ok then You should need no sealant. My truck leaned out after the Apten so I had Sal fatten it up a bit. I went from 14 lbs. of boost at the shift to 16 lbs at the shift.

you a/f ratio will now be alittle Leaner. (*more air)

Yes you can reuse the gasket.. NO sealant required.

Great time to clean your innercooler and put a phenolic spacer on.
paint the intake or polish it, and clean the inside of the intake, throttle and IAC.

You might need a little fuel added. Just depends on how lean your current tune is. Just keep an eye on the plugs.

The non-WOT tables and adaptive stuff should be fine.

The WOT closed loop stuff might need to be tweaked by
the tuner ...

Dyno is the only way to tell for sure

Would a ported blower's increase in airflow be metered air, thus accounted for by the MAF and adjusted in your tune?

Good question. I have the Predator. I am wondering how much fuel I can add with it. 10-15% maybe?

Re-use the old gaskets as is and you will be fine. Here is some usefull info on install and torque specs:

Thats the AGE OLD question... If the MAF is NOT pegged why wont the A/F stay the same with small increases of metered air...

Yeah, I'm thinking of adding 5% fuel via the Predator anyway.
What do you think?

Is the increase in airflow and boost netted from an Apten ported blower similar to that of a larger lower pulley?

because at WOT, the ecu is operating in open-loop mode, using set values for the fuel injection. at part throttle, it is operating in closed-loop, using the sensors to run the engine efficiently.

that's my understanding of it at least.

Certain chip manufacturers can only setup totally fixed WOT tables that will not adapt for small increases in metered air.

Others have ford OEM knowledge and make it just as adaptive as the factory loaded program.....

Anybody have any ideas on percentage fuel I should add w/Predator after installing the Apten ported blower?

Who can do what? I assume all the tuners on here are capable of the latter?
