They are several hoods now on the market which hoods are best for our lightnings i thought steel hoods were to heavy they have a new cobra style hood now with cowl that weights #38 lbit has some type of new plastic compound in it mixed with other type materials . i have not desided on any hood yet still looking ?????

 

I am partial to the Shaker hoods. Be sure and check those out. Vinney has one. Maybe he will post a pic of it.

Check out the stock Hood. It's aluminum. If your interested in light weight its hard to beat.....

The fiberglass hoods are much heaveir and some have fitting nightmares.

The steel hoods are lighter than the quality fiberglass hoods.

I wouldn't have the courage to cut my stock hood for a shaker scoop but it's an option.
