Question How often do you change your plugs?

This seems like it would have been covered already, but I couldn't find an answer using search. So how often do you guys swap them out?

I've only swapped plugs when I burnt them or needed colder ones for different mods. Mostly they just get checked every 1500 miles or so to make sure they're tight.

Exclamation

I check and replace every 6-10k ...plugs are only 12-20 bucks so it's cheap just to throw new ones in

They should last for many 10's of K's if the truck's tuned right,
I'm OVER DUE "time wise" to change mine, (3rd summer same plugs) but they only have maybe 8K on them. I try not to use my Lightning for ANYTHING other than pure enjoyment driving,
but when I DO drive it, "IT'S WOT AND NITROUS BABY"

(@2-1/2 years old w/ 13K+ on it)
Thats 13K of WOT though

BTW
My plugs cost more like $100.00 w/ shipping,
I surly aint throwing them out (or changing them) every 5K,
but I do keep a spare set, JUST IN CASE.

Rob_02Lightning,

What plugs are you running that cost $100? I thought spark plugs cost around $20 for a set of 8? What are the benefits of running $100 plugs? Are they ones made for nitrous?

I am with Rob. I have been runnin my Denso IT22s for 10000+ and they still look good.

And Rob, you must be buyin your Densos from Vinnie if you are still payin 100 for em, lol.

They did use to cost about that thought, prices on them have come down a bit over the years.

He's probably got some NGK plugs, ive seen them for 90.00 bucks as opposed to 20.00 for the Densos.

I run Silverstone BERU's S1K's - I was told they should be checked at 10,000, but expect 15,000 to 20,000 easily on (as Rob says) a good tune.

So Densos are worth it? Are they best for nitrous users?
