Western Chassis or DJM ???

Gotta put new control arms on "Christine". The Western
ones seem to be beefier than the DJM ones and the DJM
site even states that they are NOT for the Lightning.

Anyone have the WESTERNS?

TIA

Cliff

The DJMs may not be for the Lightning, but this will come as some surprise to my truck, which has been happily sporting them for weeks.

As far as "beefiness" is concerned, just how beefy do you want? The DJMs are already a couple of pounds heavier than the stock arms, yet appear to be able to take anything that the stock arms could take.

The only failures that I have heard of involved Western Chassis arms. I'm not saying that they are of worse quality, or that what I've heard is a statistically valid sample, but that's my personal knowledge.

Tomorrow I will be track testing the DJMs at triple-digit speeds, so if you don't hear from me again, you'll know that I had a false sense of security.

Do the Western Chassis arms use sleeve-in-sleeve pivots like the DJMs? That would be a dealbreaker for me -- I really like that construction.

All I can add (from personal experience) is that if you need any "customer support" from Western Chassis, you're not gonna like it...........they will NEVER get any mo my money.

I have the Western Chassis arms and if anything they seem “over built”. They weigh in a littler more than stock and use a sleeve in sleeve design. I got mine direct from Western Chassis as I needed some special tweeks, and they (W/C) were more than helpful with my request.

Nothing real special…I just wanted them with no powder coating and unassembled so I could weld in a direct mount for the sway bar. I did ask for a shallower spring pocket, but ended up leaving it alone.
