Phenolic Spacer

Does anyone out there run a phenolic intake spacer? Does this thing make improvement? Are there other mods that need to go along with it?

Unhappy Phenolic spacer

I ordered one two weeks ago. Should be here soon. I am interested to see if it makes a difference. If the dyno test they qoute is accurate, it should add some top end power.

I agree with Late model racer. Its not going to blow you away, but may add a few ponies and def cools your upper plenum wich is good for street and track.

At the track throw a $1 bag of ice on the intake between runs and you'll get better results.

The Phenolic Spacer was designed to help straighten out the airflow pattern before it reaches the impellars. Aslo the heat the is produced by the blower is given that much more space to disipate before it reaches the plenum, increasing the Air charge temp. For those who say this isnt a Horsepower mod we have done several test with Eaton trucks and made most recently 9 RWHP. Also we dynoed FastGator's Truck and picked up 8 RWHP. These are really a worth while modification for any Lightning.

Yes you are correct, that the spacer really shines when the motor is hot. One of the simpliest and best thought out mods for our trucks. While JDM didn't invent the spacer, he sure thought of it for out trucks and brought it to market.
Some would call it...........Thinking outside the box

spacer

was at JDM the day they dynoed Gator truck with the spacer.....sold me. The plenum temp difference is night and day.

At the track throw a $1 bag of ice on the intake between runs and you'll get better results.
........as well as blown coil packs and possible more damage when it starts to melt or you get condensation running down the back of the plenum

Also, i wish ice cost a buck on my truck. $1.50 last time I checked. I'm surprised they dont' charge me for the rubber i leave with all over the side of my truck
