I raced a mildly modified 00' GT with my basically stock Lightning and beat him easily. His GT is an automatic, and he had only had the car for a couple of days when we raced...he didn't know how to launch.

 

BS or not, I still enjoyed reading the story...

 

What a story!

I have lost to 2 - 03 cobras and really don't feel bad. I work at the plant where the terminator motor is built.

JDM & a company here in Michigan build a performance package for the 03 cobras which gives these cobras 490 jdm and 480 Alternative performance. Both cobras only had a chip, dyno tune, a 3 lb upper, drag shock, and performance exhaust ( Headers, cats & cat back.

I'm pushing 500 plus and they got me by 3 car lengths from the hole!

I'm working on my suspension and rear end to see if I can close that gap. The one cobra with Alternative performances kit does 11's at 119 mph. Last weekend.

They can run high 13's pretty easily stock with a good driver
