I was #2 at 11.59 @ 107 mph ( coasting through ), I ran a best of 11.21 in Test and tune with a street program and 15 psi boost!
Ten's are not a problem, but most of us detune our trucks to be more consistent!

My point was that if there are 23 ten second daily driven Lightnings out of the JDM stable, none of them seem to show up or are willing to run a string of 10's at any race I have heard about this year.
I like others are also doubting Jim's claim of 2000 11 sec JDM tuned trucks, but heck, its just numbers dammit

That by itself is pretty impressive....
As far as running Personal Best quality times in backet racing at a FFW level event that is VERY rare. Good racers tune thier truck to run a dead on repeatable number .. Over and over - 30 or more times over a weekend ( if you go enough rounds ). The way to do that is l;eave enough on the table to be able to make it up at the big end if you spin or cut a bad light...
I used to run FFW and I often went all out for personal best runs because I knew that I couldnt cut a good enough light to win. Im crazy. BUT if you are in it to win an expereinced raceer doesnt dial the truck all the way out for bracket racing.
You might go for a Personal Best ( 11 or 10 second pass ) in the Fri Nite test and tune.. THe bad thing is that the test and tune results areent posted anywhere...
But I bet Bruce knew all this -
It makes it tough to take shots at JDM if you admit it though.... Maybe someday he'll stop beating that dead horse....

If you boast that you have the most 10 second trucks of any tuner around, then maybe you should have a few of those show up and run a few "dialed in" consistant 10s during a race weekend. For instance, if your truck can run 10.50's all day long, how hard is it to dial it back to 10.90's and have that extra power in reserve that you speak of in case you need it?
Their are experienced racers in much faster classes that are consistant and win all the time by running almost as fast as their vehicle will go, so how hard can it be?
Also, I should hope that almost every Lightning at a FFW event would be JDM tuned, he sponsors the race and history has proven that when someone not affiliated with JDM shows up, things get hairy.(remember JL's #1 qual?).
He's not beating it....He got behind and mounted it

Bruce,
Instead of getting into a pissing match on this board about my truck, maybe you and I can meet somewhere to discuss this like adults instead of this computer screen....seeing that you and I both live in Maryland.
Let me know if your interested

This thread is about to get clocked, so I want to set something straight.
Your first statement is total B.S. Nobody running at FFW gives a crap who tuned your truck. This internet fantasy life you live is not carried out to the track.
You speak of JL....LMAO. Let me tell you how his little joke of a run in Jersey was viewed. Us normal folks simply thought that he was nothing but pure a-hole for comming out to an event simply to attempt to prove some futile point by "qualifying" as the quickest time, when everyone else, that knows anything about racing brackets, is not even attempting to run a new best or even a quick pass.
Ron
let the bashing begin!!!!!
I don't understand how JL's name got brought into this..........
Oh wait never mind..... I see it.........
Damn bruce..... do you have to drive every thread into the ground???

Rocks, get a grip bud, you can bring up JL all you want in here, but he went to Jersey to T&T and it just so happens nobody there from the home team was anywhere close to competing with him for the top spot.
Now I remember why I havent posted here in awhile, its the lack of mature responses to items that are sensitive.

Bruce,
I dont even understand what your point is except for bashing the JDM racers. The bottom line here is JDM Engineering has put more Lightnings in the winners circle and the 10 sec/11 sec club than anybody and thats a fact. In the last three years there has be a combined of 26 National event wins by our JDM Lightning/ Harley racers. As for running all out at every event not even JL does that. He has a 9 sec truck and yet at most events he qualifies in the 11's also. We all know you and JJ are real close freinds and he has already posted his truck ran a 10.90 but yet already at NMRA Maple grove his final round race against Vinnie was in the low 12's and he qualified at 11.90. Why didnt he run in the 10's? I know why I dont run in the 10's at every event, because 1 of my customers trucks I took to Texas I had to run 10.80 with in eliminations and 1st round I hooked good and ran my number second round I didnt and lost. Dons truck is a true 10 sec daily driver and he drove it 700 miles each way to VA, back getting 19 miles per gallon, winning the event and now you put him down for not running 10's. If your gonna keep posting like this at least have the courtesy to leave JLs name out of this.

The guy started taking shots at me for the times my truck runs...god forbid I be happy with 12's. Must be because I'm a JDM tuned customer I guess
All JDM guys are supposed to run 10's I guess. You better start cracking the whip on us Jim
All I was simply trying to do was get a better understand how the rule works. So , back to that rule thing anyway...........

I did give JJ some ***** about not running a number at the NMRA event that he went to, but from what I was told, there was only one round of qualifying on Sunday for those that showed up on a rained out Sat and he ran full weight and 10lbs of boost to make sure he qualified safely and considering there was only one round of qualifying, he did the smart thing. Your 10 sec boy Vinnie qualified mid 12's, so why didnt he run 12.0's? And just for the record, JJ went 11.99 in qual and ran a string of 12.0's. The following weekend at MIR he ran his truck 8 times and went 11.03-11.15's all day in the heat with 12lbs of boost Jim and he plans on running consistant 10's in the heat at ATCO if his stock trans will hold up.(I know how worried you are about JJ, so I thought I would fill you in on what he is doing)Also, his truck runs stronger on 12lbs of boost than your 10 second trucks running 18+lbs, so when he turns up the wick, take notice.
Give this topic the old Just Do Me spin Jim, your pom pom's will chime in for sure, but keep in mind that I have counted 2 deserters from your camp this week, and its only wed.
