Guys, please help a fellow L driver understand the error of his ways.

I went to Cavalier Ford on Military Hghwy in Ches, Va as I do (looking to buy a blk 99-00 Gt for a daily driver) Meanwhile they have white 03L (used) and a Red 04 (new). So I asked one guy how much is the 03L he says "30,000" with 16000k. I am blown, I tell him I can get the 04 new for 32000 then I asked how much is the 04L he says 39,000
1. Two guys(salesmen or pretending to be) did not know CRAP about cars (fords where they work)
2. Almost fought me because I said a 03L with 16000 seemd like alot. Used the came out in 02 bs
3. They are trying to get 34,5k for the 04L

They can ask what they want, and it will just sit on their lot. Its their problem. Asking over sticker sucks and I think that anyone who pays it is the ah. As far as used Lightnings go, the higher the better imo. Id like to see them hold their value.

Yes....total idiots....just what I'd expect. I went to around 10 SVT dealerships and never crossed one salesman that even had as much knowledge as the brochure.

 

I went to my local dealer asking about my '03 L as a trade in on a new crew cab (only asking). The sales manager who is one of the officers in our SVT club told me $25,000 no problem and he would work on the owner for $26,000. My L has 8000 miles and is flawless. This of course was based on the fact that I would be returning the L to stock. I thought that was fair from a trade in value. If I was going to sell I would sell private and get another $1500 to $2000 for her, but I don't have any serious intentions to sell any ways.

if you feel like driving up to Richmond, I know that Universal Ford on West Broad street has at least 3 or 4 '04 Lightnings sitting on the lot that they would deal on.

I know they have a Sonic Blue, a Dark Shadow Gray, Black, and I don't remember what else.
