still in a holding pattern....

literally haven't touched the truck since the day after I drove it home from NY.

been very busy .

I'll probably pull the engine next Saturday (not this weekend, it's fun ford richmond) but the following.

and at least see what went wrong and go from there with my decision.

later,
chris

I am really not that concerned with the noise, I really wanted to know more about power gains! Thanks!

I need headers and high flow cats......especially with my setup..but I dont want my truck any louder than it is now.

But I cannot decide what to do....I need the free flowing and the extra power..but dont want the noise.

I have the Borla Cat-Back system and no high flow cats. The sound is just a tad louder than stock when cruising and only wakes up when you stomp on it, I love them. The set up had cost me $500 1 year ago at a car show where I bought it from a Borla dealer. I don't know how much more noise the high flow cats will make with the Borlas but this system is pretty much quieter than most other brands.

How much of a difference is there in performance from the Kooks LT's to Bassani shorties?

while I've never personally owned a set...

from every report I've ever heard:

the bassani headers don't do ANYTHING except make your wallet lighter.

meaning ZERO gains over stock manifolds... which means HP and TQ loss compared with kooks long tubes.

don't waste your time or money. the bassani cat back is the best one you can buy with the sweetest sound, but the headers are useless.

good luck.

Chris,

I have run my bassani shorties for almost 2 years now. I agree long tube headers would gain more Hp.

However, I personaly like the roar that they put out! I don't have cats and run a Flow master exhaust. I have a magnaflow cat back system on the floor of my garage waiting to go in when I get my LTH.

I have a set of JBA shorties that were on it when i purchased it used with 5K miles on it. And it also has flowmaster twin 40 series mufflers. I was thinking of getting rid of the cats or putting on some high flow cats. If I take the cats off completely, is there any modifications to do, like O2 sensors or anything?

Also, how does that setup sound?
