my vb

I was looking at the valve body that I bought from a guy on nloc and I noticed that it had a Ford stamp on it. I guess I am just asking to make sure that this is normal and that he didnt sell me the stock vb. It is not a Factory Tech, but instead a LFP, I bought it at a too good to pass up price and have heard good things about the LFP bodies. Let me know if this is normal, or if there is anything I can check to make sure I got the right one, for I know virtually nothing about this except its supposed to be awesome.

Thanks,
Matt

But Im not using Factory Tech, and I was just checking to make sure LFP was the same thing as far as using the same body and modifying it.

They use a stock one also, but they use one from a regular F series or Expidition (FU1Z-7G422-AA) instead of the Lightning model, so the calibration is slightly different. There was apparently no effort to match the calibration of the upper and lower circuits, they just winged it. On a graph, the LFP model is all over the place, instead of a smooth curve up to the shift.

I don't like to put down anyone's product but there is a good reason that most of the guys here run a Factor Tech Valve Body.

I have a cabinet full of them ready to ship.

Im calling back an old thread but I just found the number on my vb. RF-F6TP-7G393-AB What is this from, since it obviously isnt the same as the F-series or Expedition p/n.

Thanks

I bought a JL valve body and installed it yesterday(there's is the same as explained with just the ford stamp). Boy what a difference! I'm not sure about other valve bodies but this one shifts smooth at normal throttle and you can't even tell its on there but boy once you get on it its a totally different truck. I used to never be able to smoke my tires that easy but now I can smoke them from a 30mph roll.

Based on what I have read on multiple forums, the Factory Tech Valve Body (FTVB) is the valvebody of choice. You can find line mod valves or similar valve body (VB) modifications from other vendors but based on the overwhelming satisfaction of the lightning forums and not to mention backed by Mr Greg Evens himself, convinced me a while back. I installed this with the 4x4 pan and I have to agree with the overwhelming satisfaction of this product. I bark my tires during shifts I myself could not be more happier with this mod. I am sure you know by now the benifits of the quicker shifts. Just some FYI for you, I dont even know Greg Evens and i am endorsing his product with praise, wait a minute where are my royalties In any case, install it and see if you like it, If you know someone with the 2c FTVB installed, take a ride with them for comparision sake and form your own opinion-----------good luck

RF-F6TP-7G393-AB is the part number for the casting, not the valve body. If you look on the side of the transmission, it will say F81Z-7006-AB, which is the part number for the case, not the tranny (which is different for many different years, but all of them will be xxxx-7000-xx, all cases will be 7006, all accumulatorwill be 7G422 and and all main controls 7A100 etc... even for like the AxOD (goes in minivans) the tranny is 7000, the MC is 7A100 and the pump is 7A103 (but the casting for the pump cover is 7A105), the direct drum is 7D044 etc... there is a system to Ford's part numbers.
