Question New with a couple of questions...

First off I'd like to say Hi to all my fellow L owners. I have a 03 that I purchased new in march of this year. Currently I have about 1800 miles on it. Since it is a weedend toy it rests inside my shop for weeks at a time waiting to be released. While underneath the truck last weekend installing a set of Dynatech long tubes and a Magnaflow catback system I noticed a few drops of oil inbetween the rear of the oil pan and transmission. Is there a possibilty the truck has an oil leak back there? Should I take the truck in for service before any other mods are done? I ask this only because I have several mods that I was going to install before putting the L back on the road. Also after my son and I finished the long tube install I got to thinking about anti seize...was I supposed to put that on the header bolts??? The instructions given with the headers didn't state to do it, only the 02 sensers. Sorry for the long post. I look forward to meeting several of you and seeing your L's in action next weekend at the FFW at richmond! Thanks for listening!

If you have to ask, you probably already know the answer.

sounds like your rear main seal is leaking. If this is the case it will progressively get worse. As for your LTs, antiseize is recomended but I never have used it for that purpose. I only use antiseize on my plugs.

Thumbs up

Well a little update...I pulled the trans out today to install a PT TC and no leak at the rear main seal and I checked the back of the heads and found no drips or leaks!
I'm hoping it was a little leak from sitting on the car lot for so long waiting for to come pick it up. The torque converter install is heck laying on the floor with only a floor jack! I have to restall the trans yet and get those&^%# bolts back in the top of the bell housing. Looking for a trans. jack to help where might I find one that be used with a truck 12" off the floor?
