Now this is interesting (2000 L on ebay...231 miles)
Now this is interesting (2000 L on ebay...231 miles)
Now this is interesting . . .
Seems it was garaged and never used.
What happens to an engine when it sits this long? Could that be bad for the engine, transmission, etc?
If there would be no adverse effects, what do you think would be a fair price for this?

kelly blue book lists an "Excellent" 2000 L with 231 mile on it at 21,735.00
Seems kinda high to me...

I have some experience in this field.
I bought my '99 in January of 2003.
MY friend owned it, but shortly after he bought it he got his 3rd drunk driving and the vehicle was immobilized, while he continued to make payments.
Fall of 2002 he tells me he wants to selll it (still immobllized) and I tell him I'll give him what he owes, he says NO and places a few ads. there was a LOT of interest inthe truck, however NO ONE woud buy it without taking it for a test drive. Jump ahead a few months he calls e and says he'll sell it for what he owes Plus hte cost of immobilzation. 2 weeks later it was in my garage. (had to go to Court and talk to thte judge about removing hte boot so i can test drive it and buy it, he agreed)
Problems:
1. 4 tires with flat spots.
2. 1/4" of dust on it.
No other problems. I Fought with FURD about the innercooler recall telling them athat when he received the notice, it was immobilzed and therefore he couldn't have it performed. after going through ALL, and i mean ALL the steps I finally paid for it out of my pocket.
I changed the tires andALL fluids, oil, coolant, tranny rear end, and so far so good.. The tires with flat spots wree great for burnouts, but above 45mph, it shook like a crack baby.
Funny thing is that I wasn't looking for a new vehicle, but the price was much too good to pass up.
'99 L with 2900 miles for $17,000. still spelled new.
I' haven't' had any problems with it (knock on wood), except with the rear tires, I seem to be replacing them ever 4000 miles.
it currently has 18,000. (I drove it alot last year)

The engine would have tire-gloss on it...its a car show trick, I do it when I show my truck. It doesn't look great in that photo because the flash went off, but it looks great in person... only thing that sucks, is it makes dirt stick more once it starts to get dirty again, so it will become a recurring cleaning thing if you want ot keep it looking shiney.

DONT MARRY
ONLY SCREW YOUNG SKINNY GIRLS
AND SPEND EVERY GOT DAM PENNY YOU GOT,
(cause you may not be here tomorrow)
As for the TRUCK, I DON'T KNOW MAN ???
Could be a great Deal
But could be a scam too ??
Front Head Lights look Hazed
Prob gonna end up @ mid 25k by the time the auctions over
And if it was bought for investment ?
SOMEONE LOST THEIR SHIRT (unless they paid cash)
Mine will cost me @ 40K after the 6yr loan is over,
IF I bought mine for an investment, I'd have pictures
of it laid up, covered, up in the air, weight off the tires,
regular fluid changes, etc....
Obvously this isn't the orig owner, and this new seller is prob
looking to make 5K on it, so I don't think it's going to go cheap enough to make it a really great deal ??? I COULD BE WRONG....
Remember, it's VERY EASY to put a simple switch on it
to not clock any miles, you really have NO WAY of knowing
if what they say, is the truth. You'd HAVE TO see it in person to truly know if this L HAS NEVER BEEN DRIVING. 200 Miles is NOTHING (I hope the gas was treated if it's the same tank sitting for over 4 years) ???

A switch that will allow you to not to clock any miles. Interesting. Is there a How To?

HMMMM...interesting. I noticed the same spots on my 01's heelpad several months after buying mine.
Seems like a lot of dirst on the pedals for almost no miles!
Could be an artifact of the lighting, but it looks like wear patterns on the black portion of the driver's seat bottom - like mine has after less than 30K miles. Like the pattern is flattening.
