Now this is interesting (2000 L on ebay...231 miles)
hmm
looks pretty legit to me. Someone run a carfax on it. This would be a nice deal. I mean your buying an older vehicl but it's mint. I was say if you could score this for less than 24k, it's worth it no questions. Anything more........go new.
The as is probably has to do with what the truck is and what we tend to do to them

Cost @150.00 - 200.00 depending on the car/truck.
Unfortunatly with many when you shut off the Odometer it will also shut off the Speedo. My Cousins Expy works that way.
BUT OF COURSE AS SAID, WE'RE NOT ALLOWED TO DO THIS
So whats the verdict on this L ???
Many seem to agree it seems to show a little more wear and tear than BRAND SPANKING NEW.
(200 miles IS brand spanking new[/b]
With no miles on it, if you live anywhere local to it, it would be well worth a trip to go see it. There's a big diff between new under carriage rust, and a driven chassis's under carriage rust. Plus a good look at the shocks, exhuast system and Motor and Tranny Pans would def answer the question. Like the ad said, THIS TRUCK HAS NEVER BEEN HIT BY A BUG, you will know immediatly if it's never been driven.
the pic of the closeup of the steering wheel still shows the plastic protection on the floor, but the remaining pictures don't. Doesn't seem like it was prepped that well... smudges and stuff.
I'd buy it now if I new it was for real *and* the price didn't get out of hand...
anyone close?

Also, what are the 99-00 mods that were being talked about? I was going to wait for the Gen 3 L to come out but maybe not after all...

I dont see anything wrong with those seats...... the ODO turnback is something I thought of right away when I saw the stains though....
As far as the odometer issue, there is apparently a way to "reprogram" the circuitry that stores mileage. I don't know how. I do know that on older ford vehicles -- say 98 or so, you could pull a fuse and it would kill the instrument cluster. If you pulled that fuse and drove around, you would register no miles. You would lose the tach, speedo, fuel gauge, oil, temp, etc -- pretty much the whole cluster. Some people installed two male spades in each side of the fuse location and put a switch with an amp rating at least as high as the fuse and then put the fuse on one side of the switch to maintain protection. That switch could be cut on and off to check speed, gauges, fuel, etc., when cruising around.
I believe all of the newer vehicles -- say 2001 or newer have included a few mission critical components with the instrument cluster such that if you cut it out, you take out something you have to have like AC or Radio, etc...
Keep in mind, it's illegal to tamper in any way with your odometer. If you sell the vehicle you will have to sign a document stating the ODO is correct. If you have done this, and sign that document, you have committed a felony. Period.
