Lowering Kits HELP HELP HELP!!!

Now that my 3" cowl hood is on, I realized that I need to lower the truck. I have a few questions so please help if you can. I was thinking of a complete Bell Tech kit with springs, shackles and Nitro Active shocks. Anyone have any pics of their trucks with this setup? My truck is an 03 so I am concerned that it won't be low enough in the back with just a shackle but I don't want to change the leafs or hangers. I love the way the Ground Force kit looks but it is out because I don't wanna go through the hell of changing the hanger......this kit does use hangers instead of shackles right? Also, if I decide to go the cheap route, can I use my stock shocks and have any of you done the same? Please help me with all of your pics and please specify what suspension you have with the pic as I can't decide on what to use to lower the L. Ride quality will suffer regardless so I am not too worried about that and I have also noticed that Steeda sells lowering springs and shackles for it. Anyone have any experience with the Steeda stuff. I appologize for the long post and thank you all in advance.

There has been alot of posts with info on this subject. If you do a search in the Lightning boards, you will come up with a plethora of info and pics. There's a few that deal with the 03/04 monster truck stock suspension specifically. Personally I like the Ground Force/FRPP 1"/2" drop kit. It keeps the aggressive stance but eliminates some of the space in the wheel wells.
Search for "drop kits" and you should get your answers!

I have decided on the Ground Force kit. I previously stated that I wasn't gonna get this kit because it used hangers but I looked into it more and the hangers are only used for the regular F150's. The Lightning/Harley kit uses only springs and shackles. Thanks for all your replies.

You should be happy with that kit. It lowers the truck, yet retains near-stock "ride quality."

You should be happy with that kit, I know I am....

Although, this kit will not lower your truck as much as it does on the earlier years. This kit even appears to make it look lower on the 99/00 then on the 01+ I don't know if its because of the new shocks or what?

You can allways get a set of 01-02 real leafs, get a set of shackles, and then use any front spring you want. The 01-02 rear leafs arn't that expensive. You can still use the stock rear shocks, and depending what you run up front you might still be able to use the stock front shocks.

If not there are some shorter front Billsteins available now.

My Sig pic is with a one inch front and two inch rear drop.

The description of the kit says "lowers 99 up Lightnings and Harley trucks 1.181 inches in all four corners" but I put the shackles on yesterday and it is way lower than that. It feels like there is a load in the bed. I have yet to put the front springs in but I have seen pictures of the Ground Force kit and I know it is lower than a 1" drop. The back is more like a 2 inch drop and I will post pics when it's done. I got the kit at Steeda for $175 +tax. It is also known as the Ford Motorsport Lowering Kit, Part Number M-3000-L.

What year is your L and does it look "level" with only the rear kit in place? I'm looking to pick up an '04 and want it to look level and avoid the rake that is so pronounced on the '03 and '04 models.
How is the ride quality with only the rear lowered?

Thanks in advance.
