if your really consistent on fueling your vehicle perhaps you can consider purchasing 5 gallon containers of toulene and mixing the proper ratio when you fill up your truck. I know it's a pain in the ***, but it shouldn't require too much

Lets say you do this at 20 gallon fills (just about the time the light comes on. Let's shoot for 93 octane.

x+y=20

( (x* 90) + (y * 114)) / (x+y) = 93

(90x+114y)/(x+y)=93

90x+114y=93x+93y

114y=3x+93y

21y=3x

7y=x

7y+y=20

8y=20

y= 2.5

90x+2.5*114=93x + 2.5*93

90x + 285= 93x + 232.5

52.5 = 3x

x = 17.5

Looks like 17.5 gallons of 90 octane plus 2.5 gallons of toulene will get you just about right.

Damn its hard to do math on a computer screen.

Heard somethign about putting some marvel mystery oil in there too with all of the toulene.

damn! that gonna be like an extra 18 bucks on top of my already high fuel bill i wonder if i can even buy the toluene around here. how much is 100 octane? there are alot of little airports around here, what actually is aviation fuel? i have heard that it is meant to be run at a steady engine rpm and cannot be used in cars/trucks.

I don't think you can run aviation fuel with cat converters but its honestly not my thing. I'm pretty sure however it's gonna cost you a lot more to run aviation fuel and 100 octane is at least 3-4 bucks a gallon if not more.

How much is the 90 octane?

Aviation fuel is 100/110 LL That means it is either 100 or 110 octane low lead and WILL cause the cats to melt-down. Can't tell you how long it will take to kill the cats but eventually it will.
While I was living in Maryland and learning to fly, a guy with a camaro would come by every weekend to fill it up. I saw him later and he said that his cats had melted and needed to be replaced.
There is a shop here that sells 100 unleaded, maybe there is a shop around you that sells the stuff.

Toluene

I have been using it for the last year with good results. You can get it at most major paint stores in 5 gallon buckets. I am in the same boat, octane wise, with 90 octane the highest available for 260 miles.

Where in Oklahoma can't you find 93? Tulsa has it at every station, OKC has it at every sinclair. must be some little town seems most little towns dont have it Oklahoma or anywhere else.

Texas panhandle and NM, 90 is the highest supposedly because of altitude.
