Gatorback Belt has gotten TOO NOISY!

Well it's been about 4 months since I installed my Gatorback blower belt. At first I was really inpressed, as it eliminated the squeal that resulted from sudden deceleration. I also noticed a cool whistling sound as a result of my new belt.

Gradually the whistling got louder, and it started to sound more mechanical.

Now the damn thing is so loud and annoying that I am removing it ASAP and reinstalling my good ol' NAPA.

Has anyone else noticed this with the Gatorbacks???

DEF NOT

I've used ONLY Gatorback Belts since my L was a few
weeks old and the upper Pulley first went on. A few weeks later
the Lower Pulley went on and I bought another Gatorback Belt, that belt has now been on a good 2-1/2 years, it has never made a sound, it has never once slipped, it shows no wear and tear, and AMOF I use the same belt whether I'm using a 2.93 OR MY 2.80 Upper, and again have never ever had a prob,
or sound from it. SOMETHING AINT RIGHT BRO ???

Mine did it too as well as the gatorback on the wife's mach (stock belt slipped when power shifting at the track).

Removed the one on the Mach, it was way too loud.

Ok guys, I pulled off the Gatorback and reinstalled my NAPA belt yesterday. The noise is still there, no change. So I can rule out the belt.

I think Rob is right, something ain't right.

I don't think it's the idler pullies, I repack them every few months. The sound seems to be coming from the blower... and it has been getting noticably worse the past few weeks.

It has always made noise since I installed my 4# pulley, but only at idle. Now it makes noise even when cruising or accelerating.

The noise is like a high-pitched mechanical gear sound, in addition to the normal whine.

My truck has 33,000 miles. I think I will reinstall my stock pulley, hope that it still makes the sound, and take it in for one last warranty visit. Seems odd that the blower would have issues at only 33,000 miles, but who knows.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks guys.
