I'm needing some help here, folks. It just ain't happening for me. My truck is basically stock (for now), and I'm only getting 2.2x 60' times.
I'm using Toyo Proxes, lowered to about 20PSI. Revving it up to about 900RPMs, and on the third light, releasing the brake and rolling into it, and going WOT at about the 60' mark.
Any ideas? Someone said I should be trying to hold it at around 1500RPMs and then rolling into it...
Seems like if I get too aggressive, I'm spinning, but what I was convinced was a *perfect* launch, ended up being another 2.2 60'.

yeah, i'm fightning the 60ft monster myself. If it feels good and your running 2.2's try rolling into it a little faster. On F1's, i've managed 1.9x and I SUCK at launching this truck. There's guys that have run 1.7's, and 1.8's but you should be at least mustering 2.0x's. Practice makes perfect and track prep is everything. Good luck
Yeah, I'm not sure how track prep is here. I'm just now learning to drag race, but I *am* seeing an improvement over my last time. 2.2x is alot better then a 2.4 and higher...
I'm just going to try experimenting... Brake it to 1500RPMs, and launch that way, brake to 900 and launch that way... Roll into it more aggressively. Practice makes perfect, I guess.

Try a launch from a dead idle.
My technique for 1.8's (i have a bunch) on stock F1's is launching from a dead idle and rolling into it.
heat em' up a bit (NO water)
Stage with foot OFF the gas
roll into it (this is where practice comes in)

I couldn't agree more w/ Rich (except I don't roll into it)
I ran the entire 1st season on F-1's.
98% 1.9 60ft, 1% 1.8 60ft, and my all time worse 60ft ever in the lightning, (1) 2.0 60ft on F-1's
On Slicks,
My best is a 1.63 60ft, (80% are 1.6's)
and my all time worse 60ft ever on Hoosiers 1.7
My Method (same as Rich)
Go around Water,
FAIRLY LONG, but low RPM burnout @2500-3500 RPM,
OD off
Stage,
KEEP YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL AND ON THE BRAKE PEDAL
When it's time to launch, jump out the seat, and stomp that SOB
as fast and hard as you can straight to the floor
This method has worked perfect for me at any and all tracks I've been too, MAYBE IT'LL WORK FOR YOU ????
Flashing the Convertor is an important part of launching a L
(thats how you flash the convertor, idle to WOT instantly)
A convertor and F1s becomes a bloody art at tracks that are only so-so.
Basicly Duende, Ignore everything you've heard in the past. It comes down to just a few simple things.
Taking off as quickly as is absolutely possible WITHOUT spinning ***TOO much***.
Now having said that; A slight amount of spinning really is'nt as bad as not being on the edge to begin with. Understand? Slightly spinning is better than taking off too easy.
It really comes down to you getting the feel of how quickly the track and truck will hook. With a stock truck even at a crappy strip you ought to be able to manage repeatable 2.0s. (25psi in the F1s)
Next time out try focusing on just the 60fts! Forget the ETs and cutting good lights. Simply go to the track with the intention of *ONLY* learning how to launch. When you get that to become second nature the rest will fall in line.
(pulling the front swaybar will help)

That's a really good point. I do tend to get caught up in doing everything, when I should just be concentrating on getting the 60' times down perfect.
I've improved since that post to a best of 2.0. Did it once. Hah. Just going to take more practice.

21-23 psi in the F1's, braketorque to 1100 rpms, leave at half throttle, once it bites, stab it.
Its been good for consistent 1.82-1.85 60' times for me. Its not rocket science. Just keep practicing, and practicing, and practicing, and...

20psi sounds a bit low for a street tire. I run 26psi on F1's and have gotten as low as 1.93. High 1.9's consistently.
May want to try unhooking the front sway bar end links (or remove the whole thing all together). Helps with the weight transfer.
