Angry Coil Pack Part Numbers

My 2001 has about 32k miles on it and I still have the rough/twitchy idle...It runs fine except for the idle...well today was looking over the engine bay and noticed
that the COP part numbers on the left bank are different than on the right.
I thought that the COP's was the same for both banks...and I wrong ?

Are the bolt hole locations different for one side than the other - may account for the difference in part #?

I thought that the coil packs were identical for the 5.4 engines
wheather a Lightning or regular 5.4...I'll go and write down the different part numbers.

The right bank (passenger side) COP's
have a part number IB1212 ...

The left bank (drivers side) COP's have
a part number of 1B1103...

Their does seem to be a bolt hole difference.

I am confused.

Thanks for replying...so now I wonder why (2) different part numbers...something is not right here...tomorrow I'll go to the dealer to see if can get any better clarification...wonder if this might be causing my rough idle issues...

I suspect somebody changed half of them out at one time. Both sides are the same.

If you need some go here: http://www.troyerperformance.com/cgi...talogno=COPSET

You will not be able to beat that price.

I am the original owner of this L....I have no
service visit where the Coil Packs were replaced....hmmm...
unless they were changed without my knowledge...which I doubt.

Mine has 2 different part #'s for each bank. I assume they are the same numbers as yours. Came from the factory that way.

Why the coil packs on your truck are different on each side is beyond me, but rest assured if you go to Ford Parts right now you will get one part number for both sides.

If you feel uncomfortable because you feel the bolts will not line up just remove the coil pack from the passenger side, the one nearest the radiator, the remove one from the drivers side and just swap them out.

The Web site I sent a few post up is the cheapest you can get them. You will find if you buy them from Ford you will barely get 3 for the price you can get 8 from Troyer Performance.

Ford guy told me Ford changed the parts number sometime last year. I replaced 3 of them and they had different numbers than the stock.
