I'm interested in knowing more about these fans/heat exchanger... Anyone got anymore info from talking to these guys?

I'm too cheap to call from Hawaii... Sorry.

I have an AFCO HE from LFP - and they supplied aluminum brackets that mount similar to stock HE. I don't think it hangs much, if any lower than the stock HE.

It definitely does:

And compare the installed stock HE

with the Afco:

Tim im sorry it took me soo long to respond back again.
I was out for the day.

As for the heat exchanger, the black mounts are the only things that do not come with the kit.

The fans Sue from jlp didnt say who makes em.
What she did say was that it will be like a clip on aluminum shroud, with 2 fans like the spal kit.

Well i hope that helps with your decision.

Sorry Mr Skelton - you're right - the AFCO does hang much lower. I went out and looked at mine today; I just didnt recall it being that much lower, but it sure is. I have the same brackets as you show on your picture.

Just spoke with Eric @ Afco. Super nice guy. Here is the skinny on the Afco fans.

1. It will be shrouded polished aluminum (like the Afco HE itself).
2. It will probably have Derale fans.
3. The wiring has not yet been finalized. I suggested not bothering to include a manual override switch, but instead just providing a wiring diagram showing where a SPST switch could be added.
4. Pricing should be South of the InterChiller.
5. It will not be a JLP exclusive -- any Afco dealer will be able to get ahold of it.
6. Most importantly, it is about a month away from shipping.

I was very impressed with what I heard -- both the product and the people. I am going to request from Tim @ REM that I get the first one that REM receives.

Interesting info, looks like a good and cheap alternative to the InterChiller.

Thanks, Tim.

I may not have been clear in the above post. When I said "Pricing should be South of the InterChiller," I meant that no final pricing decision has been made, but the goal was to be at least a little cheaper than the $300 InterChiller.

So if it comes out at $299, don't feel misled.

Just a little CYA, baby.

I tried to call Eric but he had gone home already. Eric is a great guy to deal with.

I have posted this before, my solution to increased cooling on a very low truck. I'll grant you a shroud for the fans would improve their efficiency but I have a temp switch set at 130F on the IC reservoir, to turn on the fans and they only come one if I make a WOT blast to over 100 mph, and then only for a minute.
