Midwest SVT Challenge @ US41...

Had fun guys. Great time riding up to the track with fractal and speedin bob (and they dont call him speedin bob for nothin ) We saw him coming up in our rear views at a high rate of speed on 65.

Good time hanging out with Jeff's L, fractal, and Struck by all day. Hopefully Jim or somebody can post some pics for us

I don't think anyone really ran their best times. Not the greatest of weather or anything.

I managed a 13.87 @ 99 MPH, but was running 14.0's all day.

A good learning experience for me, but I still need a lot more practice on my 60 ft times.

I think about 10 L's were there.

eposey,

It was good to put more faces with screen names and kick back for a while.

Hawglet ran pretty good. 14.1, 14.3, and 14.6 at full weight. Lack of fuel burped the system at the launch on the last pass.

Bob

I think there were at least 8 or so, and I met at least a few of you there. A lot of the Cobra people I knew were breaking stuff left and right. One lost a gear in the tranny and another broke his output shaft. Fun times though.

I was running 13.6-13.8 all day, except of course for the one that counted. The first round of bracket racing I dialed in 13.55 and then like an idiot screamed the tires through the 60. I had to get off it, the truck shifted into second, I got back in, it downshifted and pulled a 14.6 on me. The sad thing is I only lost by .14. I did almost beat a stock Cobra in the heads up races though, but again lost by .1.

It was great getting to hang with Speedin Bob, Lightning Bob, Fractaldragon and everyone else.

'Ol Franko didn't have a very good day E.T. wise though.

I had just run (2) 1/8 mile passes the night before at 6.92 and 6.95 with the third pass a 7.03, all @ 99.5 MPH, so I was expecting at least a real low 11, with a good hook.

Not to be......absolutely NO track prep.......

1st pass 2.05 60ft leaving @ 1200RPM
broke loose again going into second and hit rev limiter, so I immediately lifted and coasted thru at 81MPH...LOL

2nd pass 1.80 60 ft leaving at dead idle
broke loose again going into 2nd
1/8 E.T was 7.50, .6 slower than the night before at a well preped track...:-((
managed a 11.80 @ 116MPH

Oh well....I'm making some serious power and I hope to see a 10 sec pass before too long....we'll see.

It was still a great time seeing some old friends and meeting some new ones.

Franko
