An Open Letter to Johnny Lightning Performance
Bravo Zulu to JL and Sue. They are both class acts as is thier operation. One of NG Motorsports HDs was having problems in Bradenton and JL helped to straighten it and did not surrender till the problem was solved. I also witnessed him change a set of plugs in the HD in about 15 min. It was an honor for me to get to watch JL in action. Pete

Today, Saturday, May 29, Johnny and Sue Lightning (www.johnnylightningperf.com) came to Texas for a dyno tune day for Halo and NHTOC members. We set up at Horsepower engineering (www.horsepowerengineering.com) for the day. Unfortunately, we had some issues with HPEs dynos they own and lost the ability to measure a/f after the first two trucks. Fortunately, John had his handheld tools and we still had all other dyno functions. All in all it was an amazing day any way you look at it.
The dyno problem was taken care of in a flash. Chuck at HPE refunded our dyno money and let us use his shop, tools, and dyno late into the night at no charge. That was a great help and we’ll be sure to return to that shop in the future. It was clean and had both an eddy current and dynojet chassis dyno.
Today, a number of lightning and harley truck owners got to see the true JL in action (that man is very, very talented!) and to see just how big his heart is. He didn’t want anyone to go home unhappy from the dyno troubles so he charged the group NOTHING. ZERO. NADA. He used his NGS, his PC software, the Dyno, and obviously his experience to tune a dozen vehicles and produce some amazing HP results. John truly has a heart as big as Texas. He worked until 11:00 pm until the last person went home. 7:15 AM to 11:00 pm and nobody got charged a fee to tune their trucks…(although a couple insisted on paying him) There were a number of vehicles that had “issues” coming into the dynoday– some severe and some not so severe. A number of folks left very, very happy campers – issues resolved, and some pretty solid HP and TQ numbers.
I feel extremely fortunate to have finally met Johnny and Sue in person. For all the internet is, it isn’t a measure of the person you are typing to or reading from at the other end of the modem. For those of you who haven’t had the great pleasure to meet Johnny and Sue, make it a point to do so. If you haven’t bought anything from JLP, please give them a shout and support a wonderful vendor.
Thanks JLP!
