The shorter tires will also reduce reaction time. I have been running 225/60's for some time. They do however occasionally screw with the anti-lock bracks due to different diameters, do not recommend driving them too much on street because it does affect braking.

Get a bias ply tire, they're lighter than radials.

You need to go to a 15" front rim to find a lightweight bias ply that fits. Sorry, I was thinking 15x8 not 16x8.
