Who will be the first to run a 9?

Another congrats to Johnny for the 10.25. Great time, and smoken mph. After that new best ET I was asking myself what I've been asking myself for the last year now. Who will be the first to run a 9 in a Gen 2? Will it be a tuner, or are any of their customers even close? Anyone have any plans that should put them close to a 9 this race season? I know I'm about 3 seconds off. Anyone else in the 10's that you can see getting a 9 this year?
Shane

i think dale runs at altitude. I'd bet he could just come to around sea level and pull it off.

In the least he runs in hot *** weather.

I thought someone posted about a Gen 2 twin turbo lightning that ran a 7.xx? Maybe I am mistaken.

According to Kenne Bell JL is already in the 9's. I knew I read it somewhere but couldn't remember where. Its been driving me up the wall...finally found it again.

Scroll to "Lightning"....second paragraph....last sentence. Scroll to Kenne Bell Supercharger Updgrades...third paragraph...first sentence. Scroll to very end....last sentence.

Now either this is a misprint or JL is holding out on us. Come on JL just tell us you ran 9's!

smells like hype to me. No specific times, no mph, sounds like exaggeration to me.

There are a ton of "exaggerations" in that Kenne Bell article.
I don't know why they stretch the truth like that. Only make you not want to believe any of it.

hmmm

I would have to say JL is the front runner right now. Not that he is neglecting his customers, but it seems Sal and Jim haven't had much to say about their own trucks this year. Last I heard......and saw, Jim's truck was still sitting without the motor. He's been using alot of his customers trucks to race with.....and tune at the same time. Haven't heard much from Sal except he's got something nice comming for us to see.

There's a few non- tuners that will be close. Dale of course. I know Bill just had his truck tuned in on the juice finally. There's a couple mid 10 sec trucks that belong to people who don't even post here.

Anyone, good luck to all. I'm sure their will be more than one by the end of the year

My best guess would be JL, he's running low 10's in the heat, Bill ( HD ) running everything plus Nitrous ran was running very low 11's at FFW in Jersey- my guess once they crank it up low ten in the heat and maybe a 9 with a little weather. I'm sure there are a host of guys that run very fast that don't post.

I think that it will be someone from the West Coast. Some very sharp people out here that are very capable of running the number on a good track! Skip

Well if you notice that in the article, it says that a 100% stock cobra makes 375 at 9psi. The cobras if I am not mistaken only have 8psi just like the L's. It says that Johnny Lightning made 680hp and is in the 9's am as far as I know this has not happened. I think they stretch the truth quite a bit.
