What is the single best mod for the dollar, and the best dollar to HP gain ?

Chip and pulley combination. I know that is two, but if you get the pulley then you need the chip, and if you get the chip then you are gonna want the pulley. I installed a 6 pound and JDM chip over the winter and there was a huge gain over last summer.

Hard question to answer. Most mods require some other form of mod. I'd have to say the most HP gain for the money is a ported Eaton. To get full benifit, you should have a chip or custom Predator tune (this is what I mean by one mod requiring another mod). There aren't many mods for under $600 that will give you 30 to 40 HP at the wheels. Nitrous would be high on the list too, but would also need special tuning.

The best modification doesn't give you any HP whatsoever. Factory Tech Valvebody (Shift kit). No other single modification made a bigger difference in the way I felt about the truck. The truck should have came from the factory this way.

Just get one...you won't regret it. It's the equivalent of a shift kit, only meaner...

I agree that made the most difference in how the truck drove. I was nervous about changing something in my tranny, I did it. The next day I was looking for one for my father's bronco. Just do it.

I would second the Valentine one also, no point in more horsepower if you can not afford car insurance.

It's an entire replacement valve body for the tranny. Firms up the shifts. Saves the tranny. Works great. 4 out of 5 dentists approve.

You really, really need to search on this one. Probably a 1,000 posts. Search for "factory tech" in the subject line only.

my Web site

Now all of you who cry "search ****" can kiss my . . . .

FTVB is the one mod I'm reminded of everytime the tranny shifts. I wish I would have got this sooner than I did.
