Thoughts :

It's NOT bad having a 60/40 weight bias... saved your L from a swim.

If you want to stop spinning the tires, never move completely off the throttle ; or else all the weight falls on the front tires and the front end becomes a feather ...

Only some learn from their mistakes...
peace,
John

Looks like you had it pinned while turning?

As long as you realise what you did was stupid and you learn from it then thats all taht matters in this case since everything is OK. We all do stupid things and hind site is 20/20 but its those that do not learn from thier fu(k-ups that I have an issue with.

Bingo! Once you've over-corrected once, it takes some real fancy work to get it back in line. Catching the sideways drift the first time is the key.

Now that you've done it once in an uncontrolled environment....haw about taking it to an autocross a few times. Not to be a jerk and knock down cones and scare the corner workers, but to have a chance to learn the limits of the truck a bit more so that if/when it happens again, you'll be ready. Who knows, you might love it and get won over the 1%'er side.

Thank goodness you caught it in time and no one got hurt! You'll get over your wounded "pride" in about 5 minutes, ha, ha. I was amazed one night, when it was lightly raining out and I turned at traffic light and was probably going about 10mph turning and lightly touched the accelerator and quickly found my back end over on the oncoming lane. Since then I have never driven it when it was raining out. My son has had 2 Cobras with 4:10 rears and respects "power" so I let him drive my L anytime he wants. My son-in-law just wants to "punch it" - so I never let him drive my L, ha, ha.

Something like that happened to me. I was helping my sister buy some new stuff for her dog so I decided to show her what it could do. On a left turn I put on to much gas and my back end almost got infront of me. I ended up hitting the center divider, and then bouncing back and brushing up against the curb. No visable dmg fortunatly, but I am probably going to need an alignment soon. Fortunatly my sister was behind me, so she didnt ram right into me.

It was very embarrising, but a very good leason to learn.
