intercooler recall

Hey guys....the dogg here. I just joined a short time ago and get a great deal of info from this board. The first post informed me of an intercooler recall on "99 & "00 Lightning's. I am checking with the dealership this week to see if it was changed out, but I wanted to see if there was a site that had the recall notice. Randy (desertL2001) was the person that informed me of this. I looked last night for an official ford recall and could not find it.
I also looked on the NLOC forums and could not find it there either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.....

thanks
Mike

its wasn't realy a offical recall

was like some consumer satisfacation recall, which was only valid for one year

which was really gay, if u have an extracare warranty or something that will cover it

if not its going to cost ya

I have a 00'L and I bought it in 02'. Local SVt dealer did my recall work with no questions asked - and the wiper motor too - Didn't cost me a dime. My advice would be to just take it to a delaer and let them look at it. It can't hurt to ask.

The I/C recall program ended two years ago. You will not get any dealer to do it for free. Ford won't pay the dealer for it since it's expired, so you will have to pay for it. You can still buy the parts, they are about $800.

I needed a recall kit for a personal side project not long ago. I used all my Ford and SVT contacts, and could not get a recall kit. Since I had to pay for it, I just wound up getting a whole 01-up intake/blower assy off ebay instead.

thanks guys.... I'll give it a shot and see what they say....can't hurt to ask.
On the home page there is a "recalls & tsb's" - I also located it in there....

The Following Technical Service Bulletins May Apply To Your
2000 FORD F150:

Bulliten 10901 Date: 11/30/2001
Certain 1999 and 2000 model year F150 Lightning vehicles - Intercooler replacement. *NLM

Not sure if that holds any weight with the service dept, but again.....it won't hurt to ask.

thanks again
mike
