Where to get ... headlight pigtails? or something....
Where to get ... headlight pigtails? or something....
Let's see, how I got myself into this.....
I guess I bought a headlight bulb that was too bright for my wiring to handle. My headlight socket (blue adapter with 3 prongs) had burnt and melted into the socket it goes over. I assume (it was awhile ago) that I cut off the socket and adapter, and wired the wires directly to the headlight as I could find the part and needed a headlight. Since it was all melted together I guess I threw it out.
Anyways, I got an HID kit and had to do some "creative wiring" to get everything up to par. Well, one light isn't as bright as the other. And I should fix it all together, as the wiring really isn't for any great automotive standards and drenching rain.... etc....
Oh, and Napa and Autozone no longer carry the pigtails, and I'm still unsure if the part I want is actually called the pigtails. And Ford will only sell the entire electrical system, or headlight system, or something, that costs over 300 bucks.
LONG STORY SHORT (OR THOSE WITH A.D.D. STOP HERE!): Does anyone know where to get the adapter or socket or whatever on the end of the wires from the headlight switch. That blue adapter goes over it, and it connects three wires (lights, brights, and ground). If anyone has one (for any reason, or if you can "acquire" one or something) or knows where to get simply a small dollar part that makes hooking up a new headlight a snap please reply.
And unless you know of a junkyard around Atlanta, don't say junkyard. Not to sound like a *****, but I have yet to find a junkyard around here, or else I'd have gone there months ago.

LOL
thats me. ahhhh what was your question?
So the other day I say's to my self. Self I say's....
Wonder why the fuse didn't blow. Must not of been more amps just plain heat. Need a porclean adapter maybe.

Do you happen to have a part number? And are pigtails the actual name for what I'm looking for?
Description: A blue adapter, about three inches long (probabley a bit less) fits over X. X is quality, made of metal, not plastic, and the blue adapter fits over it. The three prongs from the blue adapter slides into three female slots of X. X is basically another adapter. The headlight/brights switch runs to X. Three wires, entwined in black electrical tape end up in X. Each wire representing either the brights/headlight/ground wire. I believe X is gray in color. Now lets pretend it's junior year in math, and you must solve for X, and give it's part number for extra credit. Anyone with a damn good answer?

Reguardless, I was sketched out. So, anyone want to be my savior and pop up with a part number? It would do more good than sending money to orphan children in Zabawaniacheniaistan and such!

Alright, that's the Ford part number? When I went into the dungeon (AKA: The Northpoint Ford Parts Dept.) they said they only sold the entire electrical/wiring/headlights/crap all in a bundle of somewhere between $330-$370 bucks.
They also told me that they didn't sell the little plastic screws that keep the plastic trim in. Like if you take out your trim to put in dynamat and break about 50 damned plastic screws your pretty much SOL.
They also told me they liked me alot, and they did buy me dinner and took me to a movie and all. Or wait..... that was after.....
Hmm, I'm definatley trying Team Ford this time. They've got abunch of Saleen's and such to oogle and such as well.
Appreciate it grinomyte

For those with ADD:
I tried Autozone every time I've been in there. They don't (atleast the one around me) doesn't carry them anymore.
I will as well continue to be so bold as to quote myself from the very first topic, cause I'm a ****:
"Oh, and Napa and Autozone no longer carry the pigtails, and I'm still unsure if the part I want is actually called the pigtails."

ADD or not, I still walk into the local autozone & buy mine.
