Look at what I found...

...on my drive way that is. I guess Mr. UPS didn't want to ring the door bell so he just left it on the drive way next to the door.

Yeap, a center console form a 2000 Expedition. Got it off ebay for $300 including shipping. As you can see it came with mounting brakets and yes, it is dark grey and not lite grey so it needs to be painted. I know that there are a few people on this board that has painted theres so I need them to chime in with what paint I need. I can get it from Ford can't I? My parents think I should just keep it like it is because they think it would look good. Also, what other parts for the seat am I going to need? I have been trying to search for it on here but am having no luck.

Im suprised that its not broken, look at the box it came in.

Looks like Mr. UPS was having a bad day or something. He prolly threw it on the drive way instead of wheeling it over there.

I agree - leave it dark grey. Less work for you, and it'll look cool. Maybe just buy some of that "suede" material, and cover the lid on the console with that...some have taken the suede right off the original flip down armrest, and put it on the cover - seems to fit perfectly.

Like Jim Carrey in ace ventura? Thats great you got it for $300 shipped. That is 1 of the mods I really wished I would have done. If it was a little easier to have done and the parts were easier to come by, I may have done it. But every time I think about doing it, the cost is just way to much for me. I really love the mod though. Please take pics of it when it's done.

Itll match the dash if you keep it dark grey. Veteran Co in Los Angeles is one of the biggest suppliers of upholstery on the west coast. Call them up, get the material in the color you need...then its easy to find someone to slap it on... (800) 524-3330.

Do what?

Looks like the box is pre-used, loads of people re-use boxes and most of the time they aint suitable for the item inside.

Sure report him for leaving it without signature but not much you can do about the box unless you can prove UPS damaged it.

I hope the box was not reused, after all the console is big and heavy.

But thats not the weird thing about this. In the box with the console were other things that was NOT ment to be shipped to me. Like a long metal pole and these really big bags of screws. At first I thought they were for mounting the console because I only saw one a first, but then I noticed alot more bags of it.

Weird

Well to each his own, but I don't think I could stand craming three people in that truck. If I needed to drive more than two people then I would drive my dad's cheby(please no flames). I would buy a beater but I can't stop moding the L.

Many moons ago, I worked at UPS. The manager would bring boxes in from complaintants all smashed up and stepped on. He use to try to compare our shoe treads to the prints. It's common for shipments to get screwed up because they work you like whipped monkeys in a sweat shop.
