Question Nitrous ?????????

hi guys

I'm thinking of puting nitrious on my 2000 L
My truck is stock exept for a knn and flowmasters

How much shot of nitrious could my stock motor handle??

Do i need a chip ????or could i run it without a chip???

I can get a complete system for about $400

Thanks guys

Johnathan

You could run up to a 100 shot with no chip if everything else on the truck is bone stock, except for the k&N and flowmasters.

I would use a nitrous express kit.

Not sure about the lightnings, but I have a buddie that has a 98 gt mustang with cold air, gears, and exhaust, and he sprays a 60-80 shot, and has not had any problems. I also have another buddie that has a 40 anniversary edition mustang and he sprays the same setup, and he has had no problems, but then again, it only has 1,600 miles on it.

Without a doubt, you need to run a chip if you are running NOS. It is still a gamble, but with proper A/F tuning and timing, your block SHOULD hold it together....no guarentees!!!!

I run a NX kit, and am still fine tuning it. Call a major tuner, and they will give you all the info you need to do to your truck...I personally recommend John @JLP, but of course there are others as well. Do NOT buy anything without talking to someone who installs them on LIGHTNINGS, and has had experience seeing what our trucks can handle. Goodluck!

NOS purge.....

Why risk it J? For the 3-400 extra bucks for a good chip / tune, you are saving yourself potentially thousands of dollars and a tonne of heartache.IMO
