How to "light bulb" replacement?

The light on the left side of my steering wheel (Cruse control buttons “On & Off”) will not illuminate, however the right side three other buttons light up! Has anybody encounter this situation before? How difficult would it be to fix?? Can a shade tree mechanic be able to fix it (Self)? On the other hand, is it a dealer item, Air Bag sensitivity, or such? Any direction is welcomed; it is only a minor irritation at “night”, so no big deal. However, I know its not working and that irritates me!

Thanks!!

Happened in my old 99, and they fixed under warranty... no idea what they did.

Do you mean the main Lighting switch? (Controls the headlights, etc?) Man I will have to re-mod the new switch to run the fog lamps once more!

No, he means just the cruise control switch, the little panel on the steering wheel itself

I have never heard of anyone having that problem until now, keeping my fingers crossed... I have been somewhat lucky with all of the factory defects.

Dos it just pops out? Is there a method of removing it? Pry something under it?? I don’t see any screw holes behind the steering wheel?
