HELP: vibration on truck

lastnight on my way home i started getting a wierd vibration. its only when ur accelerating slow or fast, around turns, or if the truck is in overdrive at a low rpm you feel it.

it doesnt happen under deceleration at all, is it common to brake a tranny or motor mount or u-joint in driveshaft to go bad, the truck does get raced a decent amount on slicks n it has about 20k miles on it now.

Any help i would really appreciate i wanna goto the tri state shoot out this sat. @e-town but have to figure out the problem n fix it first so im a lil strapped for time. thanks

From: Colorado,
I had those simptums on a different truck and the driveshaft felt tight even in neutral with rear wheels up on jack.

I had my son drive and hung out the door to listen better.

Took it over to a mechanic friend and he says right off without listening or going for a drive " Bad front U joint" I said Nope already checked that. He goes for a ride and says "Bad U joint"

So I go home and drop the front U joint and shaft and pull the caps which are full of fresh grease.
Buuuuuuuut! I can hardly wiggle the thing on the other two bearings of the front yoke.

Turns out the grease passage was not allowing grease to those two and the were very dry and seizing.

Installed a new joint and was sure I put a gob of grease in all 4 bearings. "Problem solved"

I learned that just because you give it a couple of strokes and see it come out doesn't mean it is getting to all the bearings.

Good Luck! Let us know what you find

I had a weird noise going home from work one day, got out looking for it in the engine bay. Turns out to be the windsheild bead was bad, had to have the bead and the windshield repladced. might check that and also check too see it your heat sheids are not rattling.
