what's with people who don't put LOCATION in their profile?

I know this belongs in "questions about the site"

wherever that is...

but whenever I see a new member or name that I don't recognize post something I usually click on the post to see where they are from.

it'd be nice for everyone to know if a new member was local or not.

for local and regional events and just to welcome people to the community and stuff.

anybody else think this should be a "required" field upon signup?

i'm not asking for GPS latitude/longitude, home address, and mothers maiden name.

i'm just saying at least put the STATE or nearest city or geographic region or something like that?

just my .02

later,
chris

I live in Howell Mi. And I'm honest about my mods. Too many punks out there trying to get something for nothing.

Maybe I'm a fugitive....

Or if I told ya, I'd have to kill ya...

Or my ex is trying to find me...

Or I hate where I live, and don't want people to make fun of me...

Or I'm an anonymous Internet user...

Or maybe I think it's cute to put some smart-*** remark there...

Or maybe I've moved five times since I got my L, and I don't want to have to keep updating my friggin' profile...

Talking

A location would be helpful.

Sometimes, I read a post and wonder what planet they're on.

Big Brother is watching???
Stop being so damn paranoid....
If you really think that Big Brother needs to gather information on what you do to "YOUR" vehicle so they can void your warranty, then you also must believe in the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy..
For those who do not reveal their location, well, I would venture to say that "ALL" they post here may not be the real truth, or maybe it is just their fantasy. Or could they not want anyone to know who or where they are so they can flame and not worry about reprisal...
Just one mans theroy..
But, please lighten up on the "Big Brother is Watching" issue...
For those who do not know me, I , along with several others on this board are management type employees for Big Brother, and I would be first in line to fight for my warranty should someone attempt to void it without just cause...

You get real honest about your mods when you reach 37K....j/k

I called the Ford Dealship in Howell and told them about your mods and they were pretty pissed off!!!!

Some think thieves will track them down and steel their truck if they show their location or plate #..
BTW:
I live on Cave Lane in San Antonio....I dont lock my truck and I park it on the street at the end of my long driveway....

That's one I never understood. If every yahoo I pass on the streets can see my plate, what difference does it make that you guys see it too? Big brother tracking warranties off the plates? Please. My dealer has enough trouble understanding that my car is not a regular F-150. They couldn't track a car from the showroom floor into the service department if they had one of their own porters bring it around.

Don't worry about the plate. My build number's in my sig:

[Edit] Oh, lost track there for a second. I agree with Superfords, what's up with the anonymous posters? Interesting...

Whenever I take my truck in for service and a tech comes out to get it, he presses the 'Panic' button on the fob to see which vehicle talks to him.
