Unhappy Used Microtuner and now pings/knocks

Just used the Microtuner defaults settings on 2002 L. I did notice improved acceleration and better shifting, but now it pings when I press the throttle--most noticeable in higher gears.

Any ideas--I am using high octane gas??

Thanks

Put your stock tune back in, before disaster strikes.

Pinging is a no-no

Your high octane fuel is obviously not high enough. Do what was already stated, put your stock tune back in or up your octane qwik.

do you have a pulley? IF not you could try the pulley tune thats on the tuner.

What you are hearing is detination. It can easily destroy your motor.

Like the others say put your stock tune back on and get a tune made for your truck and octane of gas.

The only other thing would be to put a few gallons of 103 unleaded race gas, if the pinging is not to bad that will help.

Do not get on it in its current condition though.

I see you live in Pleasanton Ca. You can get 100 octane out at 76 on Vasco road in Livermore. They hide the racing fuel pump in the back of the station. You can also find it at Kings 76 in Redwood City.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I will return to stock mode for now.

Do you know of any higher octane stations in the South Bay?

Thanks
