asking everyone

Guys,

i just have a quick question. i own a 03 lighting and i have taken to the track 4 time this past month. i have been pulling 13.0 to 13.1 at 105 and 106mph. Is this the best time i can get out of her with what i have. 4lb lower, JDM cat back, K&N filter (no chip). i'm running F1's (stock tires) and was getting 1.88 60 feet times. i would love to get a 12 second pass but i don't know if i can. i hear anything faster, i should worry about the RODS blowing out.. This is my tow truck for my race car so i don't want this to break and my race car at the same time at the track. That would not be fun.

Thanks for any info,
mike in Maryland

Mike,

With a bigger pulley, you def need to get a chip in that bad boy! Then you should def see 12s. I ran my time with just a chip, filter & spintech cat-back!

Good luck! Kev

and you dont have to worry about snapping rods at low 12's.....some people here have run them to 12.0 and below. Your safe. And get a chip.........forget about et's snapping rods, not having a chip is going to snap those rods.

thanks.. What type of chip should i get.. i was going to step up to a 6lb and a chip, but i do know what company to purchase from. I'm think also about long tube headers and high flow cats.. Would this finish up with a good set up for a daily driver...

I use a flipchip Superchip from JDM, however there are different types of chips from many of our supporting vendors. Just try a search and you will learn a lot. Which ever vendor you decide to go with is up to you, I just always get great customer service from JDM. They really know there *****. Just let them know your mods and they will burn your chip to go with those mods!

Heres there site...JDM

Get a chip like yesterday. a 4# pulley is MUCH too large to run without one

i'm just going to order from JDM... Just keep it all with the same vendor, helps out with tuning i hope.. Just went to their site.. Cool Video of a lighting with a differant blower on it.. Got to love the sound your trucks make under boost.. nothing like a lighting putting down some good power..

yeah u definetly need a chip...with my mods and my F1's i was able to bust out a high 12 sec pass. You seem to have about the same mods as me so with some more time at the track 12's shouldn't be a problem.... If you already went to JDM just stick with 'em. They have been great to me.
