Probox Review
Probox Review
I got lazy and desided to buy a pre made box instead of building my own. When I get a chance this summer I will make a new fiberglass box but untill then the pro box will have to do.
I was going to buy from proboxrocks.com but after talking to them on the phone I desided that I did not want to buy from them. Not only did they not know measurments of their boxes they were rude and did not feel like taking the time to help me. They also wanted $160.00 shipped for the regular cab 10" Sub box. I went to cartoys4less.com and got the box for 130 shipped.
Now about the box. Its built very sturdy and looks nice. There were a few runs in the paint and a small tiny section that seems to have been missed when it was painted. These things were not enough to bother me though.
Now to move on to how this box fits. Basicly It fits ok. It depends on if you want leg room or not. If you want to recline the seat at all plan on losing atleast 3 clicks.
The bottom of the box is 10 inches the top is 8 and the middle section is 4 inches deep.
Here are a few pictures:
(all pictures are taken with seat moved up 3 clicks)
Cliff Notes:
Box is Built good
Doesnt fit the best

So I got to thinking.... How can I make this box fit better....
If I cut on the dotted line of the picture... I think I could save about half an inch to an inch of room that the box could go back.
This would probally allow the seat to go back another click or atleast recline a little bit more.
Its not like you would ever beable to tell.... the factory tool box thinggy would cover it up if you ever took the subs out.

I figure I ought to post my opinion on them too since I just made a recent purchase.
I had a custom box made by them for a 10" Kicker L7. The quality, fit, and sound is absolutely there IMO. I love the box, but I am sending it back because I am 6'6" and cant afford to lose the leg room. They are gladly making me another box for an L7 where my drivers seat will go all of the way back.
Overall I would give them about a 9/10.
