Lightning vs the new Dodge SRT

I know everyone will say Lightning are better but has anybody seen one of these trucks beside on TV. The local dealer here says they might get one but they didn't know when.

I know what a search button is DA but I wanted to know what Lightning bug fans think about it. We all know chevy struggled with SS. Just wanted to hear some opinions.

might buy a ford.

Think of it this way

if you get the srt from dodge.

you've just spent $15,000 more for an uglier truck that depending on the driver is slightly fast or slower than a stock lightning and can't tow at all and handles like a semi-truck with a full load.

for having 120 more hp than a Lightning (or 140 if you have a 99 model) it should be much faster, but unfortunately, it is the same.

It takes dodge 500hp to compete with fords 380hp.

pathetic in my book.

Thanks for the reply. I did not know about the Dodge not being able to pull or about the handling. Ford has dominanted the fast truck market for years now. Is Ford planning on keeping the Lightning in the new body style?

thier OK, not my cup of tea.
they are all the L is'nt, BIGGER than life, heavier than heck, Tires the size of a bus.. All kidding aside , the 2 trucks are comparing apples to oranges, stick vs auto, V10 vs V8, n/a vs s/c, big rig look vs sleek&sporty, What do you preffer , stock they're close performance wise, from what I've seen so far, so $32,000 vs $43,000?
They look better in real life, and they are a limited production Performance truck. so what, if Dodge took a different route than Ford. just keeps it interesting. even if they didn't match the Hype , at least they didn't totaly FAIL like GMs SS's

Again, If a fella was to use the search button you'll see many many posts about the SRT 10 PU. And in those posts you'll see *MOSTLY* peoples opinions about the Lightning vs SRT 10 issue.

Don't shoot the messenger, Rich

I say get the SRT-10!!!

There's not enough on the road for us Lightning owners to spank on a regular basis. Please do your part for the Lightning community and take one for the team.

...had to do it...

If you ask a L guy, the SRT-10 sucks, and vice versa...

so guess what I think...it's way too much money for not enough.

I think SRT looks really nice in real life. I've seen three in Huntington Beach by now. There are a few reasons why I wouldn't get one, but thats very subjective... It does turn heads and looks bad ***, thats for sure... but as the saying goes "Different strokes for different folks"...

Ok. The Truth...
The Srt 10 is a nice looking truck. It is fastest than the L if both trucks are stock. However the price difference is huge (srt 50 to 60) (L 30). I think I would still go with the L again. For 4-8 thousand in mods a L owner can KILL a SRT and look damn good doing it

$4-$8K?

used 4# pulley -->$100
Chip and Burn -> $300
Traction bars (lakewoods) --> $100 new

$500 should be able to do it.
