Why is one side lower?

Why is the driver side of the Lightning bed lower than the passenger side?

I've noticed it since it was new but never really measured since it wasn't noticeable.

Measured today and the passenger side is about 34 and 3/8" from the ground to the middle of the fender well. Driver side is 32 and 1/8"!!!

Nothing in the bed but the spare on the passenger side of it and 1/2 tank of gas.

What gives?

Are you measuring the front fenderwell or the rear? If it's noticable in the rear, i'll bet that your leaf springs settled differently. Spacer might be and easy fix.

Yes it is the rear.

Where can I find these spacers?

Mine is the same way and it pisses me off . Im going to get some Hotchkis rear springs and see if that works. Its not that noticable when im out of the truck but when my fat a$$ is in it you can tell big time from the rear.

I bet you've wrapped your stock leaf spring. When I removed my stockers (went to Hotchkiss @ 15k miles) the drivers side had a "W" style wave to it.

I also installed Cat-tracks at the same time and you can use them to adjust the height to match exactly.

Hey guys-

Lots have had this problem, do a search on "bed alignment"

I have the same problem, fixed it with fender washers spacing the bed from the frame. I decided to raise the bed on one side to help clear the slicks in the fender well, as I have a 3/5 drop.

You may need to fix it differently, but this method worked for me.

I was thinking maybe it was from the slapper bars I have.I need to get some different traction bars . But with it being dropped and having Bassani im kind of limited on what I can get .

Mine set lower on the drivers side; I put a 1/4 inch spacer under the leaf spring on that side to raise it up. That helps a lot. You gotta remember the gas tank and you are on that side.

i don't have a lightning but mine does it on the drivers side. i think it may be a combo of extra fuel, axle wrap, torque, and a fat A$$!! shimmed with 1/4" plate under the spring. Measured from the ground to the frame to make sure that it wasn't the bed or body sagging.

You guys SUCK!!!!

J/K so I had to go measure mine. It looks fine from the back but still measured it and found that the passenger side is 3/8” higher (back of the truck). Guess that’s not so bad compared to blowntruck’s 2” +
