EGR code P0401

Anyone ever had any issues with a code, P0401 EGR Flow Insufficient Detected. Got a friend that keeps getting this code. You can feel the truck stumble as the code comes in and in a few days it clears and starts it all over again. Not sure if maybe it has trash in the lines or what.

Anybody???????????

I had the same code when trying to pass smog here in Calif. It turned out to be the vacuum line that ran to the top of the EGR valve. It was burned through on the back side by the EGR tube. If it's the same green hard line you may not be able to see it from the front of the vehicle since the melt was on the back side. I say again; check the green hard vacuum line that feeds into the top of the EGR valve. If it's not that then maybe the EGR valve.
