Cool I lined up next to a Corvette over the weekend...

I've always wanted to race a Vette in my truck. I have a great amount of respect for those cars. I had my truck out this weekend and I pulled up to a red light and next to me was a new corvette. It was a real nice white one. The light turned green, and I didnt think we were going to race. It turned green and the Vette took off like a bat out of hell. I was impressed with how those cars have traction on the street. So I got into it and cought up at about 40 or so and passed it at 60 and we both quit at like 75. I get to the next light and I get a smile and a wave. The best part about the story is it was a girl driving the corvette!
I'll admit she got me out of the hole really good. But I was really excited when I cought back up to her and passed her. I was glad she even raced.

Nice! I've been waiting to race one too. Unfortunately for me it's only old men (no offense guys), not hot chicks, that drive them around here and they never want to race.

So you walked on it? What are you mods? I see you've got a chip filter and pulley...what size and all?

He was pissed, so I had to rub it in, him and his buddys left without making another run

I raced a modified one this weekend at the track. I kept up with him in my stock L until the 60'. Then he hit second gear and this was the look on my face

I raced a stock vett in my stock L, now the guy was an old fart like me but I beat him by about 4 car lengths. I don't know what a stock vett will do but he most likely couldn't drive it should have been a closer race I would think, but a kills a kill

It wasn't a kill by any means. But it was a win. I'd love to own a corvette one day, I've always liked the cars. I wished I would have been more ready for it off the line. I wish I would have gotten a much better start. Then maybe it would have been a kill. But I am happy that she raced, and real happy I beat a Vette.
Dennis, my mods are like what you said. Chip, 90mm mass air, w/ open filter, 4# lower, 2.8 upper. Silver bullet exhaust, FTVB, and truck track traction bars are really about all I have.

Old guys will race, they are just usually smarter and more experienced to know who to race. When I was 18 in an explorer an old fart and his buddy pulled up with a Mercedes and embarrassed my a$$.

Not a corvy, but out of a tollbooth a red hemi truck thought it was match, we both exited the booths at the same and I saw he was giving it nearly all he had so I throw the pedal all the way down, a quick reality check for him.

I was dissapointed only managed a 120mph blast on part of I-89 up in vermont!

Did she have a:
If you can beat me, you can eat me "bumper sticker" hehehe
I knew a girl many many moons ago that ran around in a White 69 Big Block Supercharged Vette (@ Franklin Square Area) with that sticker. And no I never did get to eat her, I mean beat her

NICE KILL BRO

I raced a vette a couple weeks ago at the track. We were door to door until the light turned then it pretty much ate me up.
