Thumbs down Magnaflow catback "cutback"

I just purchased a new Magnaflow catback # 15714 for my '01 Lightning. The price and delivery was great, however I was disappointed to find that the polished tips do not have the trademark "Magnaflow Performance Exhaust" etched into the ends of the tips. I was told by the seller that Magnaflow told him that "in order to keep up with production schedules they sometimes don't have the lettering on the tips".
Has anyone else experienced this same thing or did I just get "lucky" ?

that sucks

ive never heard of that before, but kinda dissapointed to find out they would do that. my magnaflow sounds great, and looks great. it has the etching on the top of both tips, and the underside (side facing the ground) of the muffler etched with "magnaflow performance exhaust".

sounds like you just got lucky

magnaflow "cutback"

Thanks...That was my next move after I got some feedback from this post. I'd like to think that I was being told the truth if others have had the samething happen to them.
It's not that big of a deal but I just wanted to share my Magnaflow experience with the rest of you to make you aware.

That's what I thought at first, too, but the seller told me that he was told by the factory that the system was indeed a new Maggy 15714. It just didn't have the lettering on it. That's their bust I guess. If it sounds great and everyone wants to know who made it I'll tell them F........r or G....n, or B....i !!!
If they think it sucks, well......

I put one on a couple of weeks ago, it didn't have the etching.

Unhappy

I put one on my L a few weeks ago as well. It did not have the lettering plainly visible. HOWEVER, when I held the tips just right in the light I could clearly see where the etching had once been, and then was polished off. I think it may go back some time to someone catching their leg on a protruding tip and cut themselves. Since then, Magnaflow has shortened the tailpipes so the tips no longer stick out. They also may have removed the etching to discourage people from mounting them in a protruding fasion.

Just my guess.

Jake...

Thanks for all of the feedback...the muffler is a Magnaflow so I guess they have just stopped putting their name on the tips. Can't wait to get it installed this weekend. I have nothing but good things about the Maggy catback so that's why I decided to go with it over all the others. Now if the install goes well and i can get the tips lined up the way I want, I'll be really happy.
Thanks again...

I got my Magnaflow c/b from JDM a couple of years ago. It does not have etched tips but I love it anyway . One of my best mods.

JDM does not sell magnaflow catbacks. The magnaflow catback hadn't even been made 2 years ago.

JDM uses magnaflow mufflers in their JDM catback.
