New tonneau -- am I the first L owner to have one?

Just installed an Undercover tonneau.

Only 50 lbs, 60 second removal, strong as a wet goat. I could not be happier with the construction, function, fit-and-finish, and customer service. 10/10.

It's black textured plastic, which may not look right on all trucks, but I think that it looks exceptionally pimpy on my no-chrome black "what-if-Porsche-made-a-truck" L.

Am I the first L owner to install one?

More info here.

I have had one on my Supercrew for almost a year now. Very happy with it. Very durable and like you stated, easy to remove by yourself if you so desire. Looks good on the black truck Tim.

My brother bought one a few months ago for his HD. Went to the dealer to check 'em out... the guy crawled up on his own cover and proceeded to jump up and down on it.... they are very sturdy!!

Talking Wet goat?

OMG, you mentioned a wet goat in your post.

You know that will excite, beyond comprehension,
a certain goat herder that frequents this board.

You don't know the chaos you've started.

Is there a carpet insert available for the underside of the Undercover?
If so, who manufactures the piece? Looks great, BTW.

Tim, very sweet piece. I love it. It adds so much to the whole package. Your truck has always been one of if not the nicest Lightning around. Looks like something I will have to pick up in the very near future as my stock cover is looking a little rough. Just add some more weight to slow me down. HaHa. How long did it take for you to receive it after you ordered>??? Thanks, -Mat-

Thanks, guys.

The company is VersaCover.

It was $589 + $50 S/H. It took only a few days to get from the other side of the country to the closest Overnite Freight location in L.A.

No carpet piece available, but you could take a piece of rigid material, cut it to size, and then contact cement some carpet to that. Hmmmmm. Now you got me thinking.

The weight is not bad at all. Prolly 60-70 lbs total. Even a soft cover weighs 25 lbs or so.

Although they have been around for a while, the FlareSide version was just released in September 03.

Can you open the gate without first lifting the top up as in what if my wife borrowed the L? By the way, my second car is a '88 911 in almost Sonic Blue (Venetian Blue)
