I can't. I installed mine a few weeks ago and I'm getting the SES light for low temp. It's been from 50 in the morning to 80 in the afternoons so it's not to cold outside.

Jerry,

I don't really remember anybody having this problem until around the 03 and up. It could happen on the earlier models but I just don't remember hearing it to speak of.

I've seen a few people post about the 03 and up. It seems to be hit and miss on the newer model years.

I have an 03 and I have a SES light right now, I got it the day after I installed my 160° t-stat. When I ran the code with my predator it said

'Insufficient coolent temp for closed loop fuel control'

SUperfords said he thinks that's because my t-stat isn't closing, sounds right to me...so I'm going to change back to stack today and see if I get the code tomorrow or not, I'll let you know...

My 01 set an SES light when I had the stock fan. With an E fan I have had no SES light even when it is cold.

I have been running a 160 hyperstat for 74000 without any lights..with or witout the E-Fan...

Data logged the ECT a couple times with the clutch fan and it ran about 178 degrees in 65 degree weather. The engine wants to run hotter with the E-fan setup..I have yet to install a sensor for the fan to run on..Currently it runs on AC when I'm around town..sensor going in this weekend..I may end up getting an adjustable thermostat to drive the temps back down....

I had one in and took it out after my oil sepersator started to fill with water.

FYI my light also came on. In my case I would have to only run it in the summer time.. dont know if I am going to swap it back in this summer yet.

Don't mean to steal the thread. I have a 170 in mine now. Why would you want to run the 160?

Put a 160 in last summer and have had no problems at all. Drove it all winter in temps down in the teens. .

My truck is an 03 and it does not look like I will be able to run the 160. Guess I will put the stocker back in.

I have an 03 with a 160 t-stat and Flex-a-lite efan. ECT runs a constant 172, when it gets to 174 my efan turns on and brings it right back to 172. No SES light.
