Thinking of trading the L for an Evo or BMW
Don't ever sell a vehicle to save gas. That's just silly.
Look at worst case:
20,000 miles a year
L gets 10 miles to the gallon
Magic newcar doesn't use gas
$5 a gallon
L would cost you $10,000/year in gas over the "magic car" Over 5 years, you've got 50G to drop on this perfect car.
Actual case:
12,000 miles a year
L gets 12 miles to the gallon
Magic car gets 40 miles to the gallon (Prius)
$3 a gallon
L costs $2,100/year extra in gas. You'll have to drive the Prius for 10 years before it's cost effective. (and that's assuming the $5000 battery packs don't go out)

if u are thinking about an EVO wait until the end of summer, i believe mitsu is introducing a higher end version called the EVO 8 MR(mitsu racing) with different differentials and more power and who knows what to smoke the STi, hehe.
2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR
THere is a good write up about it in the Spring issue of "SPEED" by road and track. It got GREAT reviews.
anyway the important numbers are:
0-60 in 4.3
1\4 12.9 @107.6
280\295 hp\tq
final drive ratio 4.58
est price $33k
