Proof something is wrong

well I went out playing last night messing around with my tranny seeing if its just my imagination or if its really slipping or something wrong... well good news is I think my tranny is all good... i really messed with it in every situation I can think of, and i belive its good...

but, i do have bad news... while out playing, i ran into another Lightning... its a 03 DSG, dudes name is Andy and lives in Mansfield... I sorta already knew him, but he wanted to race... he went to kennedale on Sunday and ran an 8.5... he has 4lb, chip and boost bypass and thats about it...

anyway, we went to the very outskirts of the back 360 and got on it from stop, 20 and 40 roll on.... EVERY SINGLE TIME he beat me...and not by just an inch or whatever... by about 2+ whole car lengths....

can someone tell me what the hell is going on??? why is he beating me... i have everything he has and ALOT MORE.... only thing I dont have is the 3:73 gears....

im very discouraged

Have you had it on the dyno? Maybe your tune needs some adjustment.

One guy a while back had a IC pump that was not working. Is yours?

start her up. open the hood, and see if the fluid id circulating in the intercooler tank.

If you see it moving your intercooler pump is working, if not check the fuses under the hood.

Bring it to a tuner before you damage something while beating on it. It will cost less to bring it to a tuner, than to make a repair.

good luck!!!

Are you sure he is "telling you the truth" on what mods he has?
I would hate to see you send a lot of $$$ trying to diagnoise a non-existent issue.

What do you have for gears? The 03 would have 3.73s

Yes you should... wasn't this the problem since you got your blower back from porting?

What about a stuck bypass valve (the butterfly may be slightly opened...)

Its almost impossible to figure out why someone else is beating your truck unless you give us a particular issue cause there could be hundreds of reason why your not making the power.

Maybe he's just getting a better launch then you, maybe your truck is running super rich for a number of reasons and its killing your power, maybe your tranny is slipping and you just can't tell, maybe your mass air meter got damaged or dirty and its not reading correctly...

Best bet for right now is to check your air fuel ratio cause I'm willing to bet its probably somthing to do with that.

check and see if your tail pipes are just incredibly black and sooted.

well when i first got my ported blower back, i wasnt seeing much boost... sometimes i would get on it and see "0" on my boost guage.... sometimes I would see like 10+.... it was weird... well came to find out my boost bypass kit was messed up... one of the vacum hoses was pushed too far into the elbow piece and was blocking off the air i guess..... so I put it back to stock and just did the unplug route.... since i did that, everything seems fine... i am consistant on seeing 10-12 everytime i step on the pedal.... if i just barley touch it, it jumps to 8-10.... so I feel its working properly... but it has NEVER EVER been higher than 12
