Angry More mods + slicks = worse times

Met Olefafl and Blown318 at the track today to try my new slicks with the Apten port + new tunes (3 programs). Very disappointed

Previous best was 12.78 into a 20+ mph headwind on F1's in about 45 degree air.

Today was 75 degrees. Best I could get on my new Hoosiers was a high 1.9. Mainly 2.0's. 13.20's ALLLLLLLL Day! I even did one run on my F1's and cut the same 60 ft. All three tunes on my chips gave me the exact same results.

Don't know what to do now

Only consilation of the day was watching a new Z06 run 14's and 15's all day

YOU HAVE TRACTION BARS RIGHT?
(sorry about that)

If I remember right you were looking at Lakewoods, perhaps they are too far from the leaf spring.

also what weight removal did you employ?
I removed tailgate, spare and hitch and couldn't hook up for *****.

maybe the track was extra slippery

New slicks take a few good burnouts to get to their optimum performace

Yeah I have Lakewoods and they look to be spaced right. I did drop the hitch Friday afternoon as well.

You're putting down about the same HP & torque as I am.
I'm running consistant 8.03's w/ 170's 60'er's w/ 3:55 gears
in mid 80 degree weather. Hmm...it might be in your tune.

Good point. I have to remove my 140Lb. tonneau, spare &
tailgate to acheive these #'s.

dang with that wind, they should switch the start and finish line and you could use a sail from a boat for that extra boost.

It was weird because both street chips AND my race chip all ran the same

what was your mph. If your race prog and your regular program both ran the same, i hate to ask, but are you sure your chip is installed properly. Maybe your running stock tune because of a connection problem? I dunno. Just a thought.

But overall i think it's probably just your 60 issue.

Does your race program require 100-104 octaine?
Mine does. I usually run 32OZ. of torco to 1/4 tank of gas.
Puts me around the 104 range.

I dropped around 3 mph today also. "Supposedly" my race side is 93 octane ie an aggressive street tune.

Sounds like you have a very safe race tune.
An aggressive race tune will require 100+ octane.
A dyno tune should bring it to life.
